The JPC’s Mission

The mission of the JPC is to influence policy that promotes cooperation, collaboration and constructive change among California’s three systems of public higher education in the delivery of agricultural teaching, research and outreach programs, for the benefit of the people of California.

The JPC’s Vision

By promoting cooperation, collaboration and constructive change, we seek to maximize the efficient use of public and private resources that fund these programs. Meanwhile, we strive to identify new funding sources and strategies.

We seek to foster policies that promote the increase of collaboration in agricultural programs while respecting the autonomy of our institutions.

We seek to convene and enable the intellectual resources of the three systems of public higher education to address high priority, cross-cutting issues for California agriculture.

We seek to improve upon the traditional excellence of California’s programs of agricultural instruction, research and educational outreach.

We seek partnership with the California agriculture industry for the guidance and support of our efforts.

We seek to support the health and competitiveness of the California agricultural industry, which yields economic and social benefits to all Californians.
